Accessibility Statements

What is an accessibility statement?

An accessibility statement is a document informing about the digital accessibility of a website or mobile application. It must contain information consistent with actual conditions - if the website does not meet all WCAG 2.1 criteria listed in Annex 1 to the Act, these non-compliances must be indicated and exclusions described.

Legal basis

The obligation to have a statement results from the Act of April 4, 2019 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities and Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2018/1523.

Information about whether the website is fully compliant, partially compliant, or non-compliant with WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.

Inaccessible elements

List of inaccessible content with the reason: non-compliance, disproportionate burden, or exclusion from the Act.

Contact and procedure

Contact details for reporting accessibility issues and information about the procedure for requesting an accessible alternative.

Guidelines, placement

Technical conditions

Technical conditions for publication and the structure of the electronic document of the accessibility statement are located in the Public Information Bulletin of the Ministry of Digitization. Accessibility statements created at Wrocław University of Technology meet the technical conditions recommended by the Ministry of Digitization and contain all required elements.

Where to place the statement?

Accessibility statements are placed on the dostepnosc.pwr.edu.pl(opens in a new tab) website, and hyperlinks to them should appear in the footers of the respective websites. If a website, application, or system has a dedicated place for a statement, it should be placed there after consultation with the Digital Accessibility Coordinator.
